From the President
I believe that the last time we revised the DWLS
Bylaws was in 1985. The organization has grown in
membership by at least a factor of four since then.
Along with the growth, are changes in how we conduct our
business and the responsibilities of your Board of
Directors. This became quite apparent this past month
when we began advertising and recruiting for positions
on the Board for the upcoming elections, and potential
candidates were inquiring about the responsibilities of
the various positions.
I would propose that a committee be formed (including
former BOD members) in the fall to review our Bylaws,
and come up with recommendations for revisions. An
organization the size of DWLS would benefit by having a
current framework in which to operate. Please keep this
in mind over the next few months and review our Bylaws
that are posted on our website. Your input into
revisions will always be welcome.
